The business was founded in 2020 by a Door County local, Maia Michalsen. During the COVID-19 lockdown, she was deemed a non-essential worker and that downtime gave her the opportunity to bring a long-held dream to life.
Over the past five years, DoCo Pitpacs has grown steadily, thanks to Maia's dedication, creativity, and the incredible support from our community.
It is with deep sadness that we share Maia Michalsen passed away on April 27, 2025.

Her daughter Hanna Michalsen, has now taken over and continuing Maia’s dream. Taking on this role has come with a steep learning curve, but also a deep sense of pride and purpose.

We’re excited to announce that we’re back in production and preparing to relaunch. A new website for online orders is currently in development, and we’ll soon be listing local businesses where you can shop DoCo PitPacs
