Our Story
Our journey has been anything but ordinary. Through every step, we've focused on staying true to our values and making space for thoughtful, lasting work.
PitPacs creates high-quality hot and cold therapeutic packs made from cherry pit stones—natural, reusable, and handcrafted with care. The business was founded in 2020 by Maia Michalsen during the COVID-19 lockdown, when she was deemed a non-essential worker. That downtime gave her the opportunity to bring a long-held dream to life.
Over the past five years, DoCo Pitpacs has grown steadily, thanks to Maia's dedication, creativity, and the incredible support from our community.
It is with deep sadness that we share Maia Michalsen passed away on April 27, 2025. The new owner of DoCo PitPacs, It states “honored to continue her legacy.” Taking on this role has come with a steep learning curve, but also a deep sense of pride and purpose. Her craftsmanship and spirit live on in every pac we make.
After a brief pause over the last seven months, we’re excited to announce that we’re back in production and preparing to relaunch. A new website for online orders is currently in development, and we’ll soon be listing local businesses where you can shop Delco Pit Packs in person.
We’ll also be attending farmers markets starting in September 2025—stay tuned for dates and locations!
